Terms of Service

The terms of service for Lorela.

Who we are and what these terms cover

Lorela is an AI voice assistant that answers the phone calls you can't pick up, has a short conversation with the caller and sends you a summary by email or in the app.

Lorela is provided by ANOVIA Finance s.r.o., company ID 01757237, Na Zamku 636, 250 81 Nehvizdy, Czech Republic ("we" or "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

Setting up your account

You create your account on the sign-in page with your phone number or email - we send you a six-digit code (by email also a sign-in link), and you don't need a password.

When you activate Lorela, you choose how she introduces you to callers and you forward calls from your mobile to the Lorela number. You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you enter.

What the service does

Once a call is forwarded to the Lorela number, an AI voice assistant takes over. She finds out who is calling and what they need, the call is transcribed, and we send you the summary by email and in the app, depending on what you choose in settings.

Lorela takes messages - she is not a customer service line. She doesn't book appointments, quote prices or make commitments for you. Decisions and answers always stay with you. Lorela is not an emergency service and cannot call 911.

Price and billing

The service comes with a 7-day free trial, and a card is required to start it. If you don't cancel during the trial, your card is charged automatically for the first period of the plan you chose, and the subscription then renews on its own until you cancel.

Subscription bought on the web: $19 a month or $189 a year (that works out to $15.75 a month). You pay by card through the Stripe payment gateway, and you enter the card when you start the trial. Prices are in US dollars, and sales tax may be added where it applies.

Subscription bought in the mobile app: the price shown in the App Store or Google Play. You pay from your Apple account through the App Store or from your Google account through Google Play. The charge is made when you confirm the purchase or after the trial ends, and then at each renewal (on the App Store, 24 hours before the end of the current period).

Term and cancellation

The agreement is for an indefinite period, with no notice period and no penalties. You cancel a subscription bought on the web in your account settings or by emailing hello@lorela.ai.

A subscription bought in the iPhone app is canceled in your phone's Settings > your name > Subscriptions; a subscription bought in the Android app, in the Google Play app > your profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription by itself: on the App Store the customer always has to start the cancellation (Apple offers no other way), while on Google Play we cancel the renewal for the customer when the account is deleted and the paid period runs out - if that doesn't work, the customer cancels it the same way.

We may end or suspend the service if these terms are broken, in particular if it is misused for spam or unlawful purposes.

Refund requests in the App Store

Apple, not us, decides on refunds for subscriptions bought in the iPhone app. When you ask Apple for a refund, it may ask us how the service worked during the paid period. You agree that in that case we will tell Apple whether Lorela was available to you and whether she handled calls for you, and, where applicable, our position on the request. When answering such a question we do not pass Apple the content of calls, contacts or other details about callers.

Referral program

A user can invite other customers with their referral link (lorela.ai/r/code). A newly registered account that comes from an invitation gets an extended trial of 30 days instead of the standard 7 days. Once the invited person pays their first subscription payment, the referrer earns a reward worth one month of their plan; it is deducted from their next payment. If the referrer has no active subscription at that moment, the reward is applied to their first payment.

A referrer also gets an instant reward of 7 days added to their subscription as soon as the invited person enters a payment card when starting their trial, without waiting for their first payment, up to four times per calendar year. The form of the reward depends on the referrer's status and payment method: if they are in a trial and pay by card through Stripe, their trial is extended by 7 days and their first payment is pushed back accordingly; for a paid subscription by card through Stripe it is a discount on the next invoice, and for payment through Google Play it is a deferral of the next billing. If the days can't be applied right away (typically with payment through the App Store), they stay on record and are credited as soon as the referrer takes out a subscription on the web by card. The instant reward adds to the first-payment reward described above; the two are separate and neither affects the other.

The number of referrals is not limited. Rewards are a discount on the service, can't be exchanged for money, and no reward is earned if the program is abused - in particular by referring yourself, creating fake accounts or otherwise getting around the rules. We may change or end the referral program at any time; rewards credited up to then are kept.

Your rights and responsibilities

You use the service only for your own phone number and for the purposes it is meant for. You are responsible for having the right to forward the calls on your number to Lorela.

You use uploaded contacts only to recognize callers in your own business, in line with applicable privacy and data protection laws. You also give your callers any notice the law requires, for example about call recording.

Liability

Lorela records and passes on information as accurately as voice AI technically allows - an occasional inaccuracy in a transcript or summary can happen. We are not liable for damage caused by an incorrect or delayed delivery of a message, unless we caused it through gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

We work to keep the service available as much as possible, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted operation without outages, including outages on the side of phone carriers or other providers.

Privacy

The processing of personal data, yours and your callers', is described in our separate privacy policy.

Once a week we also use a portion of calls, in pseudonymized form (names, companies, places, contacts and sensitive numbers replaced with tags or random digits), for an internal quality review of Lorela. You'll find the details, including how to opt out of the review, in the privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms from time to time, for example because the service or the law changes. We will tell you about a material change in advance by email or a notice in the app.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. This doesn't take away any protection you have under the laws of your state that can't be waived by agreement. We try to settle any dispute by agreement first; otherwise it is decided by the courts of the Czech Republic that have subject-matter and territorial jurisdiction.
